Akhmat beat CSKA 1–0

 

Akhmat defeated CSKA 1–0 at home in the Matchday 19 fixture of the Russian Championship.

 

The only goal of the match was scored by Maksim Samorodov in the 4th minute. Two additional goals by the Grozny side were disallowed due to offside.

 

Stanislav Cherchesov shared his impressions of the match and answered journalists’ questions at the post-match press conference:

 

- We have positive impressions from the game; today we beat a strong team. It’s clear that in a match like this it’s impossible to dominate for all 90 minutes. But I saw what we wanted to see—above all the team play, the character, and the fighting spirit that we imposed.

 

— What did you think of the new players today?

 

— Everyone performed at their level. Naturally, Tsake was a little nervous at the beginning, but then he settled into the game and did his job, just like the others.

 

— Do you agree that the team showed spirit at the end to hold on to the victory against CSKA?

 

— Without that, it’s very difficult to beat CSKA. And of course I expect to see even more of our fans in the stands.
